Legal Advice For SES Volunteers

21/12/11 - The SES is only a part of the volunteer's lives. Volunteers have families, work to attend of businesses to run and everything else that is called a "life". From time to time legal issues arise which will require you to seek advice from lawyers. This can be as simple as needing wills or Powers of Attourney prepared and advice on traffic infringements to advice on more complex civil and commercial matters.

As a firm, Camatta Lempens appreciates the time and effort made by the volunteers and their femilies and is happy to provide advice to volunteers at a discount of 10% off its normal charge out rate. In addition a free 15 minute telephone service is extended to volunteers.

Contact Michelina Guarna on (08) 8410 0211 or email mg@cllegal.com.au. Michelle is a consultang with the firm. Her husband is a volunteer at Metro South unit.

Discussion paper (Towards Improved Volunteer Emergency Service Response Capability in the Community – in Members Section)

2/11/11 - This discussion paper was compiled by a CFS Group Officer, who also happens to be a SES Unit Manager.

The paper is a solution to problems that may exist in the Onkaparinga are, only and as such would not necessarily work in all regions.

These discussions are in the initial stages only and we seek feedback from volunteers on which way we should address the paper.

We are most disappointed that this paper has been distributed without background being provided to SES volunteers due to the fact that in some areas closer working relationships are already exist.

Volunteers are invited to provide comments to the Association and may also consider completing the Monkey Survey. Please email: susan@sasesva.org.au
